After months of organized team activities, offseason workouts and inter-squad scrimmages, the Buffalo Bills are finally ready to face another NFL team when the Bills open their preseason schedule Saturday at home against the Carolina Panthers.

Leading up to Week 1 of the preseason, today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by examining a few players who have bolstered their stock so far—including nickel cornerback Dee Alford (pictured below)—and others who need to improve their play heading into the regular season.

Check out the assessments and then let us know who has impressed you and which players have seen their stock decline in the comments section.

Stock up, Stock down heading into Week 1 of preseason

While rookie minicamp, mandatory minicamp, and Organized Team Activities offered Bills players a chance to show how they could help the team this year, there is no better showcase for the players than actual games against other teams.

Heading into Buffalo’s preseason opener, we run through the players who have seen their stock rise thus far in the offseason—a list that includes new wide receiver DJ Moore (pictured below), nickel cornerback Dee Alford, and linebacker Kaleb Elarms-Orr—and which players still have work to do—including cornerback Maxwell Hairston, defensive tackle DeWayne Carter, and outside linebacker Mike Danna.

We also offer up observations from Buffalo’s first unofficial depth chart; check in on the battle to claim the No. 3 wide receiver role between Keon Coleman and Joshua Palmer; and learn how defensive tackle T.J. Sanders has impressed new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard with his play at multiple positions on defense.

Even more Bills news

Examining how new defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard plans to address the defense’s biggest issue from last year. Plus, how DJ Moore is enhancing the Bills’ offense; how Josh Allen is handling the pressure heading into a critical season; why James Cook’s contract looks like a bargain compared to the recent extensions handed out; exploring the idea of Darrelle Revis joining Buffalo’s coaching staff; and more!
